People

David Criddle

David is Chairman of TCF Index. After senior management experience in a range of companies, David founded Brunswick MCL in 1985 (TCF Index's parent company). He has enjoyed a highly successful career as a consultant and has personally been involved in the leadership of many major corporate initiatives.

He typically deals at board level with organisations undertaking significant corporate development. David provides general leadership advice and is a specialist in corporate development strategies. He has recently become more involved in board development and mentoring issues.

David was one of the first directors in the UK to be awarded Chartered Director status.

Phil Evans

Phil is Joint Managing Director of TCF Index and has led the development of the TCF Index BaseBoard. He was formerly Accreditation Consultant at the Pensions Protection Investments Independent Accreditation Board, who monitored and accredited firms under the ABI’s Raising Standards scheme.

Prior to this, Phil was a Director of Brunswick MCL, where he led marketing programmes for many of the leading companies in the retail financial services sector.

Phil is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Chris Harvey

Chris is Joint Managing Director of TCF Index and works alongside Phil Evans on the management and development of the business.

Chris started his financial services career as a general insurance underwriter before moving to marketing. Since then, Chris has been both head of marketing for an insurance company, as well as Managing Director of a leading financial services communications consultancy in the City.

Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Nick Baker

Nick is General Manager – Director at leading financial services marketing communications consultancy, AdventisNMG. Nick is passionate about the customer experience. He has over 20 years financial services consultancy and client side experience in ‘Blue Chip’ companies, including Barclays, Aetna and agency side across banking, life, investment, mortgage and general insurance.

Nick has led many TCF related communications projects involving marketing strategy and planning, auditing and pretesting, proposition and product design, brand development and integrated communications programmes

Nick is a Chartered Insurer of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a founder judge of Incisive Media’s Gold Standard awards.

Ian Grimsell

Ian has worked in retail financial services for over 25 years. He has held senior marketing roles at two major UK life companies and in recent years has been an associate director of The Children’s Mutual- one of the UK’s largest friendly societies.

Over the years he has developed and marketed a range of life, pensions and investment products for distribution through IFAs, direct sales forces and direct marketing. His areas of specific expertise in relation to Treating Customers Fairly are product/proposition development and customer communications.

He is a Certified Financial Planner, an accredited Prince 2 project manager and holds formal marketing qualifications.

Mike Millard

Mike has worked in the General Insurance industry for over 25 years with a diverse client base, including, brokers, underwriting agencies, and insurers. As well as helping companies develop their product ranges, and sales & marketing propositions he has direct operational management experience and fully understands the additional pressures companies face from regulation.

Mike has been involved in a number of compliance-based projects including the creation of an Appointed Representative Network for markets that sell insurance in a secondary capacity.

Neil Sharp

Neil is a management consultant specialising in financial services. He is a results orientated pragmatist with a thorough understanding of strategy and its importance in guiding day to day activities. He has been involved in developing completely new start-up businesses, business transformation assignments for small to medium sized Mutuals and Friendly Societies and business generation and proposition development programmes for major blue chip companies.

The principles of TCF have become a cornerstone of the assignments and projects undertaken by Neil. Recent assignments have involved strategy development, subsequent translation into easy to articulate propositions and managing cross-organisation programmes to ensure that the promises made to customers and intermediaries are met.

Charles Cattell

Charles Cattell is a consultant and training practitioner with extensive human resource development expertise in the financial services sector. He is a founding Partner of The Cattellyst Consultancy, a competence and compliance consultancy established in 1992 which specialises in advising on the human capital aspects of regulation, providing strategic and practical implementation solutions for clients engaged in investment management, pensions and insurance.

He frequently conducts assignments specifically related to TCF issues, specialising in matters relating to the people management implications of treating customers fairly, TCF culture and the interaction between TCF and Training and Competence arrangements.
